Now I understand Eastwood's character

He is not a Hero or a nice man. We are not supposed to like Him. He is not supposed to be admired or imitated. We are supposed to hate him. He is a man after vengeance. Thats it. He doesn't care who he hurts even if they are innocent. Like when he rapes Callie. We are supossed to hate everything he stands for.

He is an avenging spirit sent to dole out justice. The people of that town are guilty of murdering the marshall and are therefore fit for punishment. Callie was raped for her punishment and she got off easy as most of them paid with their life. I think most of those men that were killed would have traded places with Callie in a heartbeat.

Maybe, some of them wanted to help the sheriff but they were too afraid. Because, then they would be beaten to death just like the sheriff was. I wouldn't want to trade places with Callie because then I would be butt raped since I am a guy. What man wants to be butt raped by another man? I would rather be beaten to death. But, thats just me. But I think you're right the stranger is doling out justice for his brother.

I liked Callie though. She was cute. Maybe, thats why i feel sorry for her.

At the very least they shoulda have objected but they didn't because the marshall said he was going to report to the government that the mine was on government land and that would mean game over for the business. They did not interfere more out of greed than cowardice. If they were too scared to do anything the very least they could have done was report it to the government to send help.

No one, of course, but I would rather be butt raped than dead. I'm pretty sure most people would.

Damn straight. Kinda hard to do that if you are dead though which is why being raped is better than being killed.

I think you're far too hung up on that rape scene. She was a whore who asked for it. Do you think she threw herself at him so he'd take her for a drink and a movie? Maybe a Saturday afternoon picnic?

He's not hung up on the scene. He is just loving the attention he gets from all the replies to his nonsensical meanderings...that's my take on it.

Callie ain't no whore and even if she was one she doesn't deserved to raped. They should have left that part on the cutting room floor.
It would be easier to root for the Stranger if wasn't a rapist. I'm not looking attention or trolling on this.
