Film chemistry is spot on; story's kind of sucky

Huge fan of this film. Duo are reunited as two completely different characters, unlike there I SPY counterparts. They are equally enjoyable to watch in low key roles.

Only gripe is the story, while not routine, is quite muddled.

Reminded me of my feelings for LAUGHING POLICEMAN. Matthau and Dern are outstanding in roles different from ANYTHING they've played, but story sucked. Who would have imagined Dern as a tough cop.
