Based on the novel 'The Still Life' by David Chase?

I saw that this film was supposedly based on the Novel "The Still Life" before it was turned into a screenplay or vice versa. But I cannot find this book anywhere. I see references to it, but other than that, it doesn't look like the book exists under that title.

Does anyone know if it was ever published? Perhaps it was a story rather than a novel before the screenplay was written, but was called a novel.

And if David Chase is reading this, please explain.

The scene where Kroft/ Lockwood tells his students in a rather nonchalant manner that he locked the exit doors and is now about to kill them all reminds me of a scene in another novel called the Vampire Tapes by Arabella Randolphe (1977).

I never heard of ‘The Still Life’….

Also, I think there was a recent movie called Grace where a mother’s love for her dead baby actually reanimates it, but it needs to drink blood. The movie poster depicts a baby bottle filled with blood (and flies lingering on the rubber tip) which is what we see in ‘Grave of the Vampire’.

I don't see why we needed a time jump but you think Anne would realize it wasn't her dead boyfriend's baby
