Drive-in double bill

I recall catching this, under the title CEMETARY GIRLS (an alternate title also used for THE VELVET VAMPIRE), on a double bill with THE VAMPIRES NIGHT ORGY (which had also received a title change, GRAVE DESIRES). This was one of the last drive-in events in this area (before drive-ins faded away), with huge ads taken out in the newspapers and one of the local radio stations doing a live remote from the drive-in on opening night, giving away promo items, interviewing customers, etc. One of our drive-ins seemed to specialize in horror films, and occasionally threw in some extras with the show (fireworks at intermission, etc.) Those were the days.

Yes, Bijou, I remember those days also. I remember when this film was advertised on the radio on a drive-in double bill with a movie called "I Spit On Your Grave," and the radio promo was: "They bite, they squeeze, they aim to please, they're Vampire Play Girls!" Good memories.

Given how grim I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE IS, that's a pretty wild combination. But hey, those mixed bags were all part of the drive-in experience!

Sinister Cinema use to sell this flick as a Drvie In Double BIll w/Vampire Night's Orgy. Vampire was the stronger of the two titles. Still, in fairness, the Sinister version is probaly the best print out there at the moment.

Yes! I remember the Cemetery Girls / Grave Desires double-bill from the late 70s. I was only about ten at the time and the only drive-ins playing them were more than 80 miles away. It took me more than 30 years but I finally got to see these two movies.

I also remember a 'dusk til dawn' bill from around that time:

Carnivorous (aka Last Cannibal World/The Last Survivor)
Raw Meat (aka Death Line)
Lucifer’s Curse (aka Holocaust 2000/Rain of Fire)
The Hex

I've seen the first two but have not been able to ascertain what The Hex is. I'm thinking it might be Who Can Kill a Child? which has a re-issue title of The Hex Massacre.

I miss those days.

We have a drive in near me. Unfortunately it's very family oriented. The first movie is usually a kids movie and the second movie is never R. They never show horror that I've been able to see.

I'd love to see a horror double feature like that there!
