The Woman who called Connie on the phone

She called right before Carlo abused Connie. Who was the woman on the phone?

reply

The call wasn't for Connie it was for Carlo. It was the woman he was cheating with at the moment and Connie got angry at him which is why he became violent. Or perhaps the woman was telling Connie about their affair. Some women will do that to the wife but that's definitely who it was. One of the best scenes in that movie is when Sonny beat the shit out of Carlo in the street. I cheered!

God, are you off-base. Of course the call was for Connie, with the woman masquerading as Carlo’s girlfriend. This was to get Connie to go crazy enough to fight with Carlo, so he’d beat her up, so she’d call Sonny for help, and he’d tear out of the compound where Barzini’s men could gun him down. How do you think the assassins knew to be at the tollgate?

Actually you're right about that. My husband remembered it better than I did and confirmed.

4 months ago when I responded to your question I had a serious lapse of memory 😳

The infamous beating that Carlo took from Sonny happened after he beat Connie the first time - which we actually did not see on camera. Sonny saw that she had a black eye and the rest is history.

The next beating happened when the woman you asked about called Connie's house looking for Carlo which upset Connie. It never said who she was but she was put up to it because after Carlo beat Connie, Connie called her mother and Sonny and Sonny stormed out of his house to get Carlo and was ambushed and killed. It was a set up and it never actually said who the woman was.

I did not remember things correctly. I've seen the movie a few times but it's been a while and I got confused. Another poster on this thread brought it up and he's right.
