Movie description is off

An organized crime dynasty's aging patriarch transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son.

That makes it seem Vito wanted Michael to take over the family business, but it was the opposite. Vito didn’t want Michael involved and was heartbroken when Michael got pulled into it anyway.

I agree it could be phrased better, but how is that off? It only says Vito transferred control to Michael, which he did -- not that it was his dream come true or that he was happy to do it.

reply

The word “reluctant” is misleading. It changes the whole dynamic of it. Vito wanted Michael to be legit, an ivy league educated Senator perhaps. It was Michael’s decision to step in, kill Sollozzo and McCluskey.

Yes, and he did so. Reluctantly. He knew he couldn't go back to his old life afterward. But he did it because he had no choice.

Personally I think you're splitting hairs, but you're entitled to your opinion.
