So how did the movie end?

before you ask, I just bought the movie today at a garage sale for .25 cents. I watched the movie until the end when the movie decided to stop working. How did the movie end? Did it end the same in the book? I've read the book several times and really liked it and I just wondered how the movie ended.

Bummer! Where did the movie end? Alice seemed to be starting over, got a nice boyfriend and reunited with her kindred friend, then the narrator said she died of an overdose later.
