Reportedly coming to DVD on August 31, 2010
Reportedly, Scorpion Releasing will be releasing a DVD of GIRLS ON THE ROAD (aka HOT SUMMMER WEEK) on August 31, 2010. This is a fun, light exploitation flick circa 1973. It's fun to see an unknown Michael Ontkean paying his dues, and also fun to see Kathleen Cody (normally a "good girl" in Disney flicks of the era) getting to play a wild child. The film has some light nudity and violence, and one of those downbeat "surprise endings" that were so in vogue in the cinema of the early-mid 1970's. According to the DVD company, the disc will be mastered from the original negatives in anamorphic widescreen. There will also be an interview with the writer, a trailer preview, and an alternate title card (presumably for HOT SUMMER WEEK). It's currently up for pre-order on Amazon.com.
