2 things I didn't get

1. what was with that scene where Yato is talking to his top 2 men & he pauses as he lights one's cigarette? Was that guy a traitor? Was he telling him to get the hell out of the office? Weird little moment.

2. Why did Yato want to save Okita? I know they made it sound like Okita was like Yato when he was younger but only a fool would think Okita could be tamed. The guy was out of control & on a self-destruct mission from day one.

I wasn't sure about that either, but I did notice it. I think it may have been that Yato suspected him of jumping ship to the other clan or spying for them.

Originally Yato saw Okita as being like himself (Yato) when he was younger.
Plus at the time, Yato didn't know much about Okita and didn't know how out-of-control Okita was (remember Okita had been in prison and out of circulation for a while).

Afterwards, when Yato decided to take on the other clan and wipe them out so he could forge an alliance with the more rural boss, Yato knew that Okita's skill in wreaking havoc would come in handy.
