sharePeople misinterpret this all the time, and it's very obvious. The gargoyle whose ass was slapped affectionately was a female, and Bernie Casey's mate. She had a female voice. There was a tender gazing into each others eyes before the ass slap. He was reassuring her after she was exhibiting jealousy over his attention to Jennifer Salt. No idea if the gargoyles mate was played by a female. Under that heavy rubber costume, who knows? The gargoyle's mate character was the only other gargoyle who wore contact lenses for closeups.
