Tried it & yawned through the whole thing. Why Spike Lee remade this snorefest is beyond me.
When I watch a vampire movie, give me *monsters*. Or a creative spin on traditional vampire expectations while *keeping* the horror aspect. (for ex. "30 Days of Night")
If you liked 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, you never stood a chance with this one. It's for thinking moviegoers with patience and taste. Better luck next time, pal.
shareWell, I kind of like it. It was strange and surreal, kind of like experiencing the most bizarre dream you've ever had. I found it very interesting. A similar vampire related film is Let's Scare Jessica to Death which I also enjoy.
shareI hope I don't find it as boring as you say! I'm going to check it out anyway, because I am so excited to come across an actual classic horror film with leads of color. That's super rare. I haven't seen the Spike Lee version yet.

Truth about leads of color in horror. On that level, it certainly is an interesting film.
But ultimately, too "artsy" for my tastes. I'll occasionally watch & enjoy an artistic film, but that's not what I'm looking for when it comes to horror. When I watch horror, I wanna be horrified.
