This is a porno!

No question about it, the only thing that differentiates this from a typical porno is the time & effort taken to create the stop-motion creatures and incorporate them into the live action. Any movie that features a woman stroking a man's erect manhood is a porno, not to mention women forcing other women to go down on them amidst a constant orgy of hairy, afroed 70s bodies. Flesh Gordon, although funny as hell in parts, is nothing more than a costume porno. Couldn't believe it when I found this in my local Blockbuster.

Why is porno bad? Besides this movie is funny as hell(your words and mine). It's highly entertaining.

In the early days of Porn Chic, the rules for porn flicks were wide open.
(Sorta like the actresses' legs.... sorry, couldn't resist)
No one knew what made a good porn flick. Also, porn filmmakers were still FILMMAKERS and really wanted to make actual films, even if the main plot was about intercourse.
You had the Faustian tale THE DEVIL IN MISS JONES, the Pygmalion/My Fair Lady remake THE OPENING OF MISTY BEETHOVEN, and a variety of other fairly clever plots. So these guys decide to use Flash Gordon as a gimmick for their FLICK-fest.
What no one expected was the availability of a number of enthusiastic neophyte SFX artists desperate for a project to let them prove their skills and get some real screen credit. By the time post-production wrapped, the film now had so many nifty SFX bits that the original FLICK scenes were pretty much irrelevant.
But they are there. About the only thing missing from the FLICK scenes are orgasms. There are no money shots of the guys blasting off and most of the women seem to only get foreplay on camera.

The original X rating was given to films whose plotline was a little more adult and the filmmakers could present the film in a way that was not confined to the by-laws of a R rating.

Films like Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, Midnight Cowboy, The Boys in the Band, Fritz the Cat, and A Clockwork Orange all were rated X for their subject matter.

It wasn't until the release of the Holy Trinity of Pornrographic Films or "The X-Rated films everybody knows about, even if they will never, ever see those films": Deep Throat, Behind the Green Door, and The Devil In Miss Jones, that the X rating became to be associated with films featuring hardcore pornography and the stigma of the X rating came shortly afterwards.

The pre-pornographic X rated films were re-classified as NC-17 because the X rating for those films and the NC-17 rating was interchangable, except in the case of Midnight Cowboy and A Clockwork Orange, those films were re-classified with a R rating.

The edited version of Flesh Gordon had an R rating (as seen in the trailer included on the Hen's Tooth DVD).

Fat and stupid probably too.

What am I wrong about?

If you do not state your facts, then I shall consider you trolling on this board.

And your post is that of a typical troll.

What I'm saying to you is to be factual or else you're a troll because you present yourself as a troll.

I stated facts, where's yours at??????

Edit: At least I can present posts like this:

Flesh Gordon was released in the last days of pre-pornographic X-Rated films, before X meant seX, that's why an R rated version was released a few years later, to prevent it from being confused with an all out sex fest, like all X-Rated films were becoming at the time.

I was replying to "Fatwit".

Check out the indenting/reply order and put your pistol away already.

Sorry, dude.

I thought you were replying to my post. It came across on my side that way.

Even when I reply directly to the opening post, it appears as the last post made, although it was originally intended for the original post.

I blame the web browser I'm using for the creation of this misunderstanding.

Please excuse my last post.

Thanks.

It was an erotic spoof on Flash Gordon. If you are desperate it possibly could double as a porn movie.

Legend has it that a hard-core version did the rounds in the 1970's. Seems unlikely as a copy surely would have surfaced by now.
