Stacy Keach undergoing existential anxiety - he's turning 30 and
doesn't know where his life is going. He's afraid with Kris singing
in the background "I don't want to be alone - help me make it through
the night". So he begs Jeff Bridges to stay with him and they have a cup of
coffee. This movie is so good (including Susan Tyrrell's drunk scenes), I
almost forgot this is also a boxing movie - or is it ?

And after he asks Jeff Bridges to stay, the two of them just sit in silence, no friendly banter or anything. That detail indicates that the two of them don't really want to be in each other's company, as friends. Just Tully doesn't want to be by himself
