Barbara Rush

This was a surprising little thriller of a movie mostly because it was a movie-of-the-week and because it had Barbara Rush as the murderous villain, which was quite a surprise and a departure for Mrs. Rush. Her death scene near the end was especially gripping. NEVER try to run across a skylight even if you are a women, it will probably not support your weight! Barbara was always one of my favorite actresses. The epitome of style, grace and beauty she along with Loretta Young and Rosalind Russel were in a class by themselves.

Barbara Rush was very good in this movie.

Like the op, all I had seen Barbara Rush in were roles as an ingenue/heroine. Needless to say it was quite a shock to watch her character change in this. She really went for it and was seriously scary!

It'd make a good headline--"PLAYBOY KILLS WIFE WITH CHAMPAGNE CORK!"

I agree with your commentary about Rush. When I saw the film during its initial airing, Rush blew me away, going from a composed woman to someone totally unhinged. Loved the crashing-through-the-skylight sequence...remember how the film just repeated Rush's fall, until she ended up on the floor below.

They don't make 'em like any more!
