wow. i absolutely love this play. i haven't even seen the movie yet!! anyway i was just wondering if any of you are actors or have any advice for actors, because basically, i have struck a pot of gold as i have been given this to work on for my A level drama exam! I am playing the part of Ruth and so far have read as much information i could on the topic on the internet. however, i am not sure how exactly to perform ruth! i have read some criticism of performances and all of them say that the actors have played the part marvellously, portraying Ruth as selfish but yet fragile in a 'superb' way! i am not sure how exactly to do this, would anyone be able to help?

ahh, congratulations!

i was tillie[matilda] in a production of this last fall. its easily my favorite play ive ever done, however, this is more because of our cast and crew than the actual play

in our production ruths charecter was changed to a boy, as we didnt have enough girls.
but i always saw her charecter as being very insecure.
but i relaly couldnt tell you how to play a role
its all up to you
just try to relate to the charecter, and it will come out being honest and amazing
