A U.S. DVD box set is coming in October!!!

It is called the "New Hollywood Collection".

It contains "Easy Rider", "Five Easy Pieces", "A Safe Place", "Drive, He Said", "The Last Picture Show", "Head", and "The King of Marvin Gardens".

Sounds absolutely awesome.

reply

Wow! This is excellent news...$70 it looks like though...All of those other movies are great too but this is the one I really care about seeing...

reply

October 20. YES! Awesome, indeed!

reply

Damn it. Unfortunately, it looks as though Sony has quietly cancelled the set!

Dammit!! I've been wanting to see this for a good 10 years now, and was so excited when I saw here that they were planning to release it in a box set. Why, Sony??

I swear to god, someone here should get a copy of this baby and share it online, maybe then that'll finally motivate them to give it a proper DVD release...

Are you f ucking serious?!?!?!? SON OF A BITCH

reply

I never knew that this was so close to happening. Dammit Sony!

I know who I am! I'm the dude playing a dude disguised as another dude!

reply

Why bother? When this came out I was glad I watched it at the Drive In because i could get out easily before it finished.

Sorry, Jack Nicholson, but this movie was about my generation and I thought it was pretentious crap.

reply

jack is in every film but Last Picture Show, right? seems an odd addition.

if it had a Cannes nomination maybe Criterion would be interested in putting it out.
