Alucard looks so much like the Clockwork Orange dude.

I had to look it up to make sure it wasn't him!

Yes!! Christopher Neame channeled Malcolm McDowell. Brilliant. Sometimes he came across like a combination of Malcolm McDowell and Sting. My wife also sees a little Dwight Schrute in him...not sure where that comes from, though.

Also with a dash of Billy Corgan. But def see the Clockwork Orange thing, especially in his mannerisms.

Yes, Ebert noticed that when the film was first released: http://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/dracula-a-d-1972-1972

A young man who looks curiously like Alex (Stanley Kubrick’s hero in “A Clockwork Orange”) wants to be a vampire. He hangs around all day in a strange coffeehouse that looks curiously like the milk bar in “A Clockwork Orange,” and he looks out from under a lowered brow, just like Alex in “A Clockwork Orange”.

It is just a black strip.

A Clockwork Orange was not released when Dracula AD 1972 started shooting but had been filmed. Alan Gibson would have been well aware of the filming and that Malcolm MacDowall was playing the main role and cast accordingly.
