Hammer Ever Re-release American DVDs Nowadays?

Sure would be nice if the newly reformed Hammer would re-issue this classic title in Region 1.

This needs a reissue and Twins of Evil just needs a US release already.

I'm sorry to say I don't think "Dr. Jekyll And Sister Hyde" will be re-released anytime soon.

Anchor Bay's license with Hammer expired awhile ago. I understand Anchor Bay and Hammer Films have discussed things back and forth, but it seems nothing has been settled concerning this particular title.

The region 1 DVD is rather rare now that it's out of print. Many online sellers are charging high prices for it. I'd say the average price for a used DVD in very good/like new condition is now $45.00.

I imagine this title will be back on region 1 DVD someday, but that's just a prediction. If you want it now, your best options would be to try ebay or buy an imported DVD.

A copy just sold for under $30.00 on ebay. There's still another copy up for auction, but it ends this evening.

As far as I know there isn't an imported, region free DVD on the market.

Buying an imported DVD will require a region free DVD player. There's a listing on Amazon.com for a region 2 DVD imported from the United Kingdom. It's already in stock in the USA, and a brand new copy costs $21.99.

As for "Twins Of Evil," there currently is an imported, region free DVD. It's not exactly easy to find, and it seems quantities are somewhat limited in the United States. The film is presented in full screen. This region free DVD is imported from Brazil, and released by Works/Editora/Dark Side. This company is Brazil's leading source for licensed Hammer films on DVD. Works/Editora/Dark Side also released "Vampire Circus" and "Hands Of The Ripper" on DVD. They are also region free. All three titles can be purchased at very reasonable prices. The covers and menus are in Portuguese. You can always print out your own DVD cover, and the menus are not difficult to figure out.

I have a Brand New, never opened (Still factory sealed) DVD of this Hammer Horror production movie. My favourite thing about the dvd is the vivid colour that covers both front and back covershots of the region 1 DVD. I cannot believe what dealers are asking for this DVD right now! Makes me wonder if I should sell it or hold onto it!

Great Hammer produced British flavoured Horror Classic. Glad I done located a few of the Hammer Classics on DVD, like "Quatermass & The Pit", "The Plague of the Zombies", "The Lost Continent", and "Scars of Dracula". Older films of this type of caliber are definitely more entertaining and much more thought out, then the regular garbage and sci-fi trash that is spilled out in theatres today. And the sad part about it, is that these kids and their parents just can't get enough of the newest zombie movie, or the brainless 3-D animated nonsense. What a real shame being produced in todays theatres, not too mention the mindsets or lack thereof, of the film goers in todays cinematic industry!
