Drew's arm.

Ed and Bobby leaving Drew's dislocated arm draped around his neck always bothered me. A person wouldn't be buried like that, so I wonder what Boorman's reason was. Perhaps just to make the scene even more disturbing. 

I don't thing they had much choice. They held him up with that rock and said a few words then just let him sink. No time to put his arm back they had to get rid of the body. I don't think he was shot he just fainted but I think we all know that.

I believe Drew was shot. Just prior to him falling into the water we see Lewis looking up at the cliff and telling everyone to keep paddling. He sees someone up there. The act of killing and burying a human being could've made Drew snap but in all honesty I believe toothless got him.

In the trivia section it states that Ronny Cox is double-jointed. He suggested to Boorman to utilize it in his death for realism, and yes, it certainly made it more disturbing, which is what they wanted.

Wow, that's some good info, thank you! I was wondering about that while watching, because I thought, "Damn, that looks incredibly real for such an old movie!"

I thought it was because he would have been in rigor mortis and too stiff to move, but I'm not sure
