Christopher Lee's character

Why did he want Calhoun off the case? Was he trying to cover something up? I wish they had done more with his character.

yea, wtf was that all about? served nothing to the story at all.

But Christopher Lee rocks, so it doesn't matter.

Because they wanted to cover up the fact that the MP spent his nights prowling strip bars in SOHO and picking up withered old hookers on the Underground.

Pretty much what Glennascaul said. The man on the steps in the beginning, Manfred, turned out to be a pretty important guy. He worked for MI5 and MI5, represented by Christopher Lee, did not want the local police nosing around into one of their own.
