What in the heck

Hey I'm just gonna judge a book by it's cover here, and say that this movie rocks. But let me remind you I have never seen it.

I recently watched this and it is pretty good. Some good performances and a very pro pot attitude that may be part of why Warner's has nevered issued it on home video. It's not often you see the ( soft ) drug dealers as the heros and the authorites as the bad guys, and while not a gripping thriller, or an action packed feature, it's got real charcters and some fine atmosphere of the era. Lots of good music too from several big artists, and the music rights may be an issue as well.

Yeah, that's what a lot of young people (and others too) don't understand about those times. The late 60s; early 70s was a time of the rebel. Soft drug dealing was one way of rebelling.

Not sure how the movie is, but the book sucks ass. I read it years ago because it was by Michael Crichton, only to find out it's probably the worst thing he ever wrote. Seems I may have read somewhere that he thought so too. I'm game to give the movie a shot though, if I come across it.

It's a neat little film that astutely captures the blithely carefree and amoral vibe of the early 70's counterculture.
