Smokey room

I love how excessively smokey the room is after César and his friends finish playing cards. French films from this era have a way—whether intentional or not—of unapologetically glorifying smoking, which is so refreshing to look at considering today's rampant political correctness and stigmatisation. It's such a shame that an era in which adults could behave like adults without fear of being judged is now dead and gone forever.

If you think this film is unapologetically glorifying smoking, try "Les Choses de la Vie" by the same director : you won't believe how many cigarettes are smoked in that film !
