The book deserves a faithful film adaptation

I once saw the end of this movie (just the end) and it was powerful. Then I got the book and read it and was so impacted by the Holy Spirit through this book. THEN I decided to watch the entire movie, start to finish. It was so unlike the book! I know all movies have to change some stuff, add some bits, delete some bits to make things cinematic but this movie really went overboard with the changes. And so many incredible parts of the book went by the wayside for confusing bits that were added. The chase scene where one gang member falls for instance or the painfully long gang fights where the gang members run all over creation. Those are actually kind of funny, but they shouldn't be!
