UK DVD, is it widescreen or not?

I watched the UK DVD of The Creeping Flesh last night & it says on the box that it's 16:9 & presented in it's, & I quote 'Original Aspect Ratio' which is 1:85:1. Unfortunately the DVD I watched wasn't widescreen, it was very much fullscreen & during the opening credits many of the names had letter chopped off either side of the screen, for instance Christopher Lee's credit was missing the 'C' from Christopher & the final 'E' from Lee. I was wondering if anyone else had this disc & could just confirm whether yours is widescreen or fullscreen as the one I watched was definitely fullscreen & that annoys me like hell especially as it states on the box that it's in it's 16:9 Original Aspect Ratio when clearly mine wasn't...

My copy is in widescreen with no cropping although it does appear to be slightly off with the image a little sqashed looking similar to my German DVD of Island of Terror but its only a slight problem.And before anyone asks,yes my TV is set up correctly.Does the US region 1 DVD have this problem?The film is on YouTube in its correct widescreen ratio if you wish to watch it for free.
