Roscoe Lee Browne

About six years ago, my family and I had the opportunity to see Mr. Browne and Anthony Zerbe perform their 2-man show of various readings. Afterward we were blessed with the opportunity to meet Messers. Browne and Zerbe.

When my son, 18 or so at that time, and I approached Mr. Browne, I remembered watching "The Cowboys" with my boy when he was a small child. My son had said, "I like the way Mr. Nightlinger tells stories. I wish he could tell me stories all the time." Soon after, we bought the storybook/tape verion of the original "Star Wars" (1977), which had Mr. Browne as narrator.

I shared this rememberance with Mr. Browne as we met and I introduced him to my son. He looked at us very warmly and said something like, "Ah, yes, I did a bit of work on that, didn't I?"

A happy memory.

I just wanted to say that is very cool and I am not the least bit surprised that Mr. Browne would be a gentleman in real life. He has always been on of my favorite actors.

I also grew up watching this movie with my father and now have the pleasure of watching it with my 10 year old.

Ahhhh some things can be treasured always.

He was a real gentleman in all the roles I remember. He is really missed these days. Love a man with such a voice and who spoke so beautifully.
