I'm introducing this movie to my 8 year old after not watching it for several years. One thing I can't get over is the amazing score! It is so well done and has been in my head ever since we started watching it.

Most eight year old kids these days have seen much worse on TV and in the movies. I would hope you discuss it with them though. That's the key. It's a good way to introduce values and distinguish between what might have been acceptable during that time and in that place that may not be okay today in most environments.
