What happened to the worst movie rating?

This movie for many a year was always considered one of the worst films ever. IMDB used to have it listed in the number 2 spot. Now it's not even on the top 250 worst list. Any ideas as to what happened. Did that many people watch and like it. I hate this movie (well, I love this horrid waste of celluoid and time waster) and feel that we really need to band together and all vote 1 on the ratings list. Let's put it back where it belongs.

At the bottom of the page of IMDb's Bottom 100, it states, "In order to appear in the Bottom 100 Titles chart the title must have received at least 625 votes."

As I write this, The Corpse Grinders only has 133 votes, so it still needs 492 more...

Then that means that IMDB changed it's rules at some point. Corpse Grinders used to be in the number 2 slot. Oh well.

Of course you still like it. It's pure cheese. I dont understand how anybody cant like pure cheese. It's still one of the worst movies ever made though. No matter how much you enjoy it, you have to admit that it's complete rubbish.

I love B movies but Corpse Grinders is boring.
Let's get this thing back on the bottom 100.

this is for sure the worst movie ever!!!

You guys are idiots, plain and simple. If this is the worst movie you've ever seen, you obviously haven't seen too many movies. I'm sure the guy who "loves B movies" considers big-budget Hollywood horror films of the 80s to be "B."

This movie was fairly well put together for the budget and era in which it was made. It's a cute idea and reasonably well executed. Was it great? No. Was it good? Depends on who you're asking. Was it the second worst movie of all time? Not hardly.

How can you have the nerve to even say something so ridiculous?

What about "Frankenstein Island"? In that movie, Director Jerry Warren demonstrates how incredibly (and hilariously!) inept he is at directing. This is a must-see for anyone interested in really bad movies. "The Power...THE POWER!!!"

reply

This movie is the greatest movie ever, I voted it a 10.

reply

I will too, just to cheese off some clown on a crusade soliciting people to give it a 1. In fact, I'm going to give every movie with a thread encouraging people to vote it down a 10.

The moral of this story? Quit fudging up the rating system, losers.

did I watch a different movie?

I loved it for it's crappies, it's cast of side show freak cast-offs and the perfusion of cats.

6 or 7 out of 10 for me just because it was made.

Yeah, I dont think you guys are getting the whole picture here. When this movie (and quite a few others) were in the very bottom of the IMDB list, it was like a badge of honor. The lower on the list, the more the fans of cheese films would want to see it. Everybody voting it up kinda ruins that. But its been years since this film was so low on the list. It really doesnt matter any more at this point.

As your post proves, there so much gaming of the system that "worst movie" means nothing – just like "best movie." This is a highly entertaining piece of schlock. It's far from the worst movie, and far from bad. The director intended to grind out a campy, cheesy B-movie, and he accomplished his mission. 6/10 stars.

It now takes at least 1500 votes to list on the Bottom 100. This film does belong there, though. It's not as bad as "Birdemic: Shock and Horror" but it is really, really bad.

Sincerely, yahmez the mad.

My original question was posted about 8 years ago, so you're a little late to the party on this one. I posted it because back in the 1990's, this film was listed as one of IMDB's worst films of all time. In fact, I think it made number 1 a couple of times in the later 90's. But like I said in an earlier post a few years ago, it was like a badge of honor. It made fans of schlock films want to see it. Thats pretty much what most of the bottom 100 worst films on IMDB did, back in the day. That has long since ceased to be the case. Now, the majority of worst films on the list are just really bad films that are not fun in any form.

At least its nice to see that not all the older posts on IMDB have been dumped in the great purge over the past couple of years, and you managed to find this one. Its also nice to see that some people still look up older schlock films like this one, which have been heavily ignored the past few years.

And remember its not just "really, really bad". It's so bad that its good. ^_^

Quite an honor. Too bad for CG. Fewer will see this hilarity if not on the Worse List.
