WHAT THE HELL'S WITH THIS TITLE??!?!?!
WHAT THE HELL'S WITH THIS TITLE??!?!?!
shareIt was given the name to basicly piss off the Stones former record label. It was released as the last song on their contract before parting with the label.
shareIn 1963 the Stones signed a 7-year "Long Term" deal with
Decca. It called for a certain amount of albums and singles
per year. (I dont know how many exactly, I think it was 1 album and
3 singles, or something-per year)
In 1970 the Stones still owed Decca 1 album and 1 single.
They gave Decca "Get Yer Ya Ya's Out" for the album, and
Mick made the CS Blues as a joke. When he had the meeting
with the head of Decca he played it and said..."There's your
last single"
The Stones were still angry at Decca's refusal to release "Street Fighting Man"
in 1968.
Marshall Chess tells the story very brieflly at the beginning of the film
when he's talking about the "Modern Version of a party album"
