Who is Leroy and what did he do?

The scene where Mick is messing around with his camera that he thinks is broken the cameraman starts talking about this Leroy and some unseen situation. He tells Mick he can't believe what Leroy did, and couldn't believe the way the Stones handled the situation, which sounds like they did nothing about it and let him stay. Mick mumbles something about the mentality of "those people", and it's easier for the tour to just let it go. Then the cameraman says something about you can't dismiss humanity (or something about humanity, it's hard to understand but that's what I think he says) just for the tour to go on.

I think, though I'm not sure, that Leroy is the big African American dude that's their security, but I have no clue what he did. Right after that scene they show the guy moving some people away from the Stones rooms, but he's not really doing anything bad so I don't think that scene is what the conversation was about.

Anybody know what the hell happened?

Leroy was the black security guy who was with them on the tour. You seem him in several scenes, including one appearance immediately following this cryptic exchange, when Leroy is shown throwing out a few young ladies that one of the groupies already inside is trying to let in to see the Stones. Does this scene relate to what Jagger and Frank were discussing in private? I don't know, nor do I have any idea what specifically happened. However, whatever Leroy did, this wouldn't be the first time the Stones had problems with their security detail (think Altamont Free Concert in 1969). The Stones hadn't toured the United States in three years specifically for that reason. They would have good reason not to want any sordid details of whatever happened to get out - and something clearly did happen.

This is the transcript:

Mick Jagger: That was something that went down with Leroy, and all that.

Robert Frank: Wasn't that something? You know, I think it's actually... ah...I was shocked at the way you guys handled it.

Mick Jagger: You were shocked? The way we handled it? You weren't shocked at the way Leroy handled it?

Robert Frank: I was shocked, more shocked, at the way Leroy handled it, of course, but...

Mick Jagger: What do you want us to do? I mean, the fact that we didn't get rid of Leroy?

Robert Frank: Yeah. (After a long pause, while Jagger shifts uncomfortably on the bed) Yeah, that was bad, yeah. But, you see...

Mick Jagger: The mentality of those people!

Robert Frank: Oh, I mean I realize it makes it easy for the tour to just go on, but it's awfully (inaudible)...

Mick Jagger: I'm afraid that the mentality of the violent...

Robert Frank: You can't erase humanity just so the tour goes on. It's more smooth. It's just...

Mick Jagger (ashen, shakes his head and says): No, I...that was not my...... (end of scene)
