This script includes a couple of lines that should be in consideration when the
"100 best movie quotes" is expanded to, say, 250:

KRIS (upon hearing Viva! sing): "Don't quit the day job just yet, honey." (This line has become a standard, but I do believe, until proven otherwise,
that this was the first time it was used.)

HARRY DEAN: "I was in an automobile accident and sustained some heavy brain
damage. That's the easiest one to pull now. Whiplash don't work no more.
Ten thousand just like that!"

Have you seen the script, or do you base in on watching the film? I'd love to get my hands on this script. Every line is quotable. I love Gene Hackman's speech toward the end about his cop benefits. There's also a great line where Harry Dean Stanton is worried about looking old onstage, and Kris Kristofferson tell him "They're there to see your soul."

This whole film reads like a Kris Kristofferson lyric: Pure poetry.

Yo, Warped;
I did read the script, years ago, in a paperback book foremat. Went missing some three address changes back. Per your Email, I checked and found:

amazon.com has a listing for "Cisco Pike: Origional screenplay (Bantam book) - unknown binding (1971) by Bill Norton."...There is an added notation: "[u]3 used[/u] from 7.57"

If you have not dealt with amazon.com before, they give pretty clear instructions on how to use their system. Just go on their dropdown list to "Books" And type in "Cisco Pike". Go to "movies and tv", give the title, and you may find a copy of the movie can be had. // By the way, agreement re Kris as poet and performer.

Hello, Cmvoger:

Thanks very much for the details. I have used Amazon many times for used items, and I've always gotten excellent service from the vendors. I just might order the "Cisco Pike" script. It's almost like a David Mamet play in that all the dialogue has a poetic rhythm. Too bad there was never a novel issued; that would be an easier narrative to read than the script.

I see they also have "Cisco" movie posters starting at $2.55. I'm surprised there's so much still available for a relatively obscure and forgotten film.

Indeed we do. It's interesting that Kris' "Pilgrim," which is featured in this film, is featured in "Taxi Driver" during a conversation between Robert De Niro and Cybill Shepherd.

Karen Black is practicing Yoga exercizes, and Kris tells her
