The Lucky Baldwin estate covered several acres north and west of the intersection of Foothill and Baldwin (near Hollywood Park)in Arcadia ; it was turned into a condo development sometime in the 1990s. Filming at the pool and crumbling columned architecture around the pool took place on that estate during Xmas-Newyears of 70-71; at the time the grounds were otherwise used as a private girl's school

The interiors (and outside facade) of "Mummy's house" were filmed in one of the larger mansions in Fremont Place (a private enclave south of Wilshire at Rossmore, considered the Bel Air of the 1930s) which was owned by a well know minister who preached on the radio.

The shots of Malibu are on Old Malibu Road. The spot were Edie is shown hitchhikiing is in front of a beach house rented at the tiome by Jane Fonda and husband Roger vadim (who appears in the film); their kitchen was used for a power source for the film's lighting

nothing was filmed in Bel Arir

The Lucky Baldwin estate covered several acres north and west of the intersection of Foothill and Baldwin (near Hollywood Park) in Arcadia a bit east of Pasadena; it was turned into a condo development sometime in the 1990s. the mansion in Fremont Place belonged to Reverend James W Fifield, minister of the First Congregational Church of Los Angeles. Fifield ran a "resistance movement" against the "social gospel <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_Gospel>; " of the New Deal, trying to convince ministers across the country to adopt libertarian "spiritual ideals"

Neither Fifield nor the arch conservative owner of the Lucky baldwin estate had a clue what was being filmed on their property. The Baldwin estate owner visted the pool set from time to time, arriving in a beatup Cadillac, to make sure there was no "fornography" being filmed ...
