are they real?? even though they are so small i was wondering if they were fake. they look hard and they don't move like natural breasts do while lying down and moving around. anyone else think this or is it just the way she is?

No they aren't real, she had silicone implants put in for the second part of the movie.

did she ever have them taken out? why would she get them anyways? weird

No she didn't get them taken out, in fact she often talked about going bigger. I am guessing it was a quick decision that she made before shooting the final footage for Ciao Manhattan. I read that she had said her father always put her down for not having any breasts, so doing this was a way to make him into a "liar".

They're silicone. When Edie was hospitalized in California she asked the staff if she should get implants after seeing a bikini ad, and someone said sure, why not. Her father had always made fun of her, so after she got them, she was happy that it made him a liar. She didn't want it stated in Ciao! that they were fake, so they threw in a line with her saying she got better about eating well and doing her exercises to explain why they were so much bigger than they had been in the NY footage.

Thanks! I actually put the video on pause right after that scene, to find out, because her explanation just seemed so false. Also, Geoffrey made an early comment that also made me think her breasts were purchased. Not to mention, weight gain breasts are never that perky!

From the waist up, Edie actually looked healthy and vibrant in Ciao! Manhattan. It's from the waist down that is the problem. I know the Twiggy look was in at the time but she has no behind in the film. Not something alluring to look at.

I think they did her implants through her belly button. She has a red scar next to her navel.

They didn't insert the implants through her bellybutton. Her implants were actual silicone that was injected into the breast. Had she lived, they probably would've killed her.

Life is nothing if you're not obsessed.
