A good one!

Thumbs up to Antonioni here, again!
He sits between chairs, in the end, rolling his 3+hours of documentary of Chinese daily life in 1972, with a lot of sympathy, a very human touch at his camera work, and as a member of the communist party and an atheist. On one side. And some hope by Chinese to get a great propaganda movie, and by the West, the capitalists, a stereotype 'dumb-ants-in-blue' non-documentary.

He did neither. But a fascinating camera work in a time - and from a time - that has left us with very few images taken with an outsider's perspective.
Totally unexpected from my angle: the individuality that one can observe. Not everyone in blue overalls and yelling Mao-slogans day in day out. Instead, we see individuals in all places, enjoying their lives (at least partly), frequenting parks, obviously reading, and so forth.
