Anyone know if this is true about the comic book speach ?

I'm pretty sure a version of this movie i had in the past off tv that had a segment where Godzilla and Angurius were in the water heading to battle Gigan and Ghidorah there were comic book style balloons above their heads with Japanese letters , and on the soundtrack like the one thats available in stores you heard these odd voices from Godzilla and Angurius and i thought thats why you heard them talk in english , the titles of the old version were Godzilla on monster island or something like that , it was pan and scan ( full screen )and 16mm , anyway i could swear this was there but you no longer see this on the dvd or tv versions .

This is the way the scene really went... in the original Japanese version they never actually TALKED, but it was noise in goofy cartoon bubbles.

Someone over in America thought it was a good idea to make them actually talk to eachother. Someone who was probably on PCP or something.

The American DVD release from SONY doesnt have the bubbles, so the Japanese language track is just them making noise, while the English dub is the same one with the stupid "talking"

- in Japanese. It's something the Japanese trailers had been doing for years. It also has Toho's English-language dub, where they're voiced by what sound like two elderly chain-smoking Jewish wrestlers.

There were no "thought bubbles" during the monster dialogue in the initial release.

I have seen versions both with Japanese writing in speech balloons, and with the goofy English voices for Godzilla and Anguirus. I'm watching the blu-ray right now, and the Japanese-language version only has the two monsters 'speaking' in the same distorted noises heard on the aliens' 'action tapes.'
