Who is Stephanie Fondue?

anybody know whatever happened to her? I know the audio commentary refers to her as 'Enid' and supposedly she had a career posing for various men's magazines but that's all I've ever found out - seems like one of life's great mysteries - anyone have additional info?

Kimberly Hyde (a/k/a KIM STANTON) who played Patty appeared in quite a few films during the 70s, including THE LAST PICTURE SHOW, CANDY STRIPE NURSES and FOXY BROWN.

Clair Dia (a/k/a SANDY EVANS) who played Suzie apparently made a bit of a foray into adult films in the mid 70s (see her filmography on IMDB).

Denise Dillaway (Claudia) appeared in an episode of KOLCHAK THE NIGHT STALKER and a TV-movie (Nightmare in Badham County) in the 1970s; there's also another Denise Dillaway listed on IMDB as a makeup artist, may or may not be the same person.

Like many people in the adult entertainment world, she probably went by at least one other name, if she stayed in the business she probably kept changing her name. Seeing as the movie was made in the mid 1970s she probably left the business in the early 80s at the latest and went back to her real name or had her name changed to avoid being recognized.

I've wondered myself who she was, or is now, for 20 years. This movie was made and ran the drive-in circuit when I was in high school. "The Cheerleaders" summed up the times of the '70s perfectly. No, high school cheerleaders really didn't behave that way at that time, but everyone secretly wished they would! Incredibly good farce of a movie, thanks to the great imagination of Glickler and Lerner, and of course, Ms Fondue.

It's been a third of a century since this movie was made. We'd all hate to find out who Enid was after an obituary was posted, as with the case of Cheryl Smith, so - - Ms Fondue, I know you're reading this; post a note! We'd all love to hear anything! It's anonymous!

I would love to know any additional information on the sweet, sexy and absolutely adorable Stephanie Fondue; she's a true joy to behold in "The Cheerleaders."

Stephanie Fondue was Hot in 1973's THE CHEERLEADERS, But it's been 34 years. She has probably changed a lot. If she is still alive she is pushing 60 years of age.

reply

I too have look for her over the years but have never seen her in any movie or show under any name. Well I'd say she was about 18 then so that would make her 52 this year!
Stephanaie probley is a granmother by now and may not want her famly to know abount her past. but it would be nice to know that things turned out alright for her.

reply

Yep, she is probably about the same age as I am (class of 72, but a little young for my class).

Sounds like she was pretty wild, from the commentary.

REVENGE OF THE CHEERLEADERS (1976) is sometimes billed as the sequel to the 1973 film THE CHEERLEADERS. However it takes place in a different high school and has a new set of characters. I think one of the writers of the original Cheerleaders wrote Revenge. Back in the 70's at the drive in's in my home town. The Cheerleaders and Revenge of the Cheerleaders often played as a double feature.

I was always fond of Jovita Bush, myself. I swear, the first couple of times I watched this movie I thought she was black! With a suntan like that back in '73, I imagine she probably hasn't aged all that well. But she, along with the rest of the girls, left behind a fine looking legacy onscreen nevertheless. It would be interesting if they could have a reunion of the cast, though. If they could do it with 'The Stewardesses', surely they could do it with this.

She wasn't black ?

Still got my fingers crossed, waiting for Judas Contract to get green-lit

.also who is BRANDY WOODS???
............annyone know anything about her
....she has the best "BRAT" sexy quality, did she go on to do anything else???

reply

Getting off topic, but check the Brandy Woods page. A post mentions what she did after the movie and what she is involved in today without giving out her real name. Interesting.

To quote Mr. Davis, she must have "real talent, yes sir, real talent."

I don't know if this is accurate, but in the board on her page, someone says the director once announced (at a replay of the film) that Enid now runs a bar in Canada.
