So says Sally early on in the program. Apparently, all the neighborhood kids felt sorry for her for wasting Halloween in the pumpkin patch with Linus, and so they donated all of their extra candy to Sally

It is a joke because Halloween is the holiday that comes before Thanksgiving.

Is it ever stated that this Thanksgiving is before that Halloween.

I always thought that it could be taking place the year after.

This episode does not necessarily take place in the same year as the Halloween episode.
