Why wasn't Lucy part of the Thanksgivng dinner?

After years of viewing this I just realized Lucy was absent from the Thanksgiving festivities. Strange considering she is one of the main characters in the other holiday specials and most Charlie Brown cartoons.

After the opening football sequence she disappeared.

Anyone know of or hear a reason behind this?

probably made other plans. 

Because she would have ripped Peppermint Patty a new one when she started complaining.

I was always glad she wasn't there, and didn't go to Charlie Brown's grandmother's house, but really they kind of gave Peppermint Patty HER role, except Lucy would KNOW Charlie Brown can't cook.

Also where was Pigpen? It's just not Thanksgiving without a dirty, smelly, filth-encrusted, stench-ridden dinner guest there.

reply

She just didn't go. As it was pointed out when Peppermint Patty complained, nobody was invited. They walked in and had the meal that Charlie Brown was able to put together with what he had.
