Visual quality of last scene

My copy has the last scene of the mother and her children returning home in extremely poor quality. Is this just me?

Could it be that this is a tagged-on scene and the reel did not receive the same care as the footage of the principal production? Did they rush to add that scene because the story needed a better closure?
