Hey I kinda liked it!

Movies today mostly cater to the 25 and under crowd, loud pointless dialogue, every scene digressing to a fist fight, action scenes just to keep the audience from reaching for their smartphone...

This drama had some good dialogue and interplay between characters. Took a unexpectedly mature approach in some scenes.

I agree; in the early 1970s there was an assumption that adults would be watching movies--it was only later that 'pleasing teens' became the criterion that determined every aspect of films.

This movie is well worth a viewing.

What I liked about this movie was seeing a time when abortions were illegal and most people considered them wrong. Today, a lot of people seem to have sipped the juice and keep talking like it's not a life that's being destroyed.

I did not like how the Dr. Tao character was made out to be a good guy who was providing abortions because 'women have the right to do whatever they want with their bodies.' Is that where people got that absurd line that's still being repeated today? What utter nonsense!

Of course women and men have the right to do what they want with their bodies. In most cases, that's how they created the other life in question. I don't know why that's even a topic of discussion. What no one has the right to do is harm or end another life. That's the issue; it's never been about controlling what a woman does with her body and everyone with any sense knows it.

Pregnant women are warned not to smoke, use drugs, or drink heavily while pregnant because it may harm their child. That's what responsible doctors would tell them. It's their body when they're keeping the child but they can be held accountable if they abuse drugs and alcohol and harm the child. However some people want to describe it, we all know the ONLY point of abortion is murder.

People who believe the 'it's my body and I can do whatever I want with it' argument must also think it's okay for a suicide-bomber to blow themselves up. The fact others around them will get hurt and killed isn't their concern. Actually, like the women who have abortions their goal is to end other lives; the risk to their own life and safety is the chance they take. Imagine the absurdity of someone saying let's find a way to make it safer for terrorist because too many of their lives are being lost unnecessarily. Guess what, some people are saying those very words - the terrorists. They're using tactics that give them a chance to carry out their mission and still get away alive.

The whole idea of 'safe' abortions, which I believe is one of the themes of this movie, is ridiculous. I can't feel sorry for someone who dies while trying to carry out a murder. People say they do it out of desperation. I get that but a lot of murders are committed for the same reasons. Someone may be desperate because they are about to be caught. If they are their lives will be a whole lot more difficult so they shoot at the police who may be closing in on them. They don't care if they kill innocent bystanders or policemen; they just want out of the situation they're in. If they get shot, oh well. They're the only ones who could have taken different actions to avoid the situation they found themselves in; not the police or the innocent bystanders. They could also have made the choice to deal with the consequences, serve their time, then move on from there - not having killed a single person.

Yeah I thought this movie was pretty good, especially the 2nd half.
