An addiction that can't be controlled ? Opinions please.

I went to see the play 1 week ago . It's being played on my country (Argentina) , and I went without having seen the movie . I believe I commit a mistake by doing that . I do not know much of how the play was , the one by Sam Mendes but taking in account what I have seen before on You Tube , the one being played here is a lot like that one . The EMCEE has become the most important character , and he is terribly sexual (and to add more to it , the damn guy who plays it went to say hello to the table in where I was with my friend...) The greatest problem is I have become an addict to both the play and the movie I can't be one day without either watching the movie or listening to the play (Which , and I am sorry for that I recorded on my mp3) , appart from It I am planning to go this week again , and I am currently at a singing contest and I am planning in doing a Cabaret Spanish Version...Is it wrong to be addicted to this "divine decadence" . I just do not know what to do to get away from it .

No, it isn't. I went through a massive Cabaret phase last year.

It's still one of my favorite - if not favorite - show but I've started listening to other musicals which has helped keep the Cabaret OCD away. It's still there, to a degree, only not as severe.

But alone is alone, not alive...

This happens to me with everything, period. I was once obsessed with Cabaret to the degree that you are...I was the Emcee for Halloween, recorded me singing the Cabaret songs, bought the coffee table book, bought all the recordings cept for the London one, bought the Berlin Stories by Christopher Isherwood, and made a Cabaret website, which is still around :)

Here's my website ^^

Thank's for the replies...Damn it! I am going today as the Emcee for a Halloween Party...I already recorded myself singing Cabaret (Which is good because I am actually at a singing contest) ...I bought the Berlin Stories...Cannot make a website but...I am chronic . By the way I am not able to enter to your website maybe there is a problem with it. Cabaret is a terrible addiction...

It's an excellent movie. Try watching DELOVELY about Cole Porter and you'll have pretty much the same response. Very catchy tunes. Also try listening to THE MIKADO by Gilbert and Sullivan, you'll have the same response. Such is music!

After watching the DVD last night, I might be on the verge of a Cabaret episode. (Saw the original twice in the theaters in 1972.) Now, what should I read and watch? Berlin Stories? How can I find out about the other productions, ways of portraying Sally Bowles?

I tried the website http://geocities.com/lalalei2001/ Thank you, but got nowhere.
