is this where Duran Duran's New Moon on Monday get the MC inspiration?

The makeup look almost identical to one another(Joel Grey)....whenever I watch Joel Grey in makeup mode, I think of the Duran Duran music video, New Moon on Monday.

I don't know why, though.
