I thought that Poitier did an excellent job with this film, but I was alarmed at how red his eyes were. I hope it was just left-over symptons of conjunctivitis and not cocaine, which was so popular in Hollywood in the 70s.

Red eyes from cocaine is a new one for me LOL. Weed, oh yes red eyes. Cocaine is usually wide dilated pupils. A lot of Black people with a dark complexion have eyes that are not as white as others. Look at pictures of people from Africa. I am not saying he didn't use cocaine I am just saying I never knew it to cause red eyes like weed and alcohol does.
