title song

can anyone please tell me the name of the theme song to Brian's Song. it is driving me crazy I cant remember and it is music we want to us at my parents 50th wedding anniversary

reply

I thinkh it's just called Brian's Song. I remember having a Henry Mancini/Doc Severinsen album years ago (Brass on Ivory was the nameof ther album) and it had their version of the song. It was listed as the Theme From Brian's Song.

It's called the Hands of Time, and I believe there was a version that was sang by Johnny Mathis. Good luck in finding the song.

p.s. You can find one on Itunes sang by Sarah Vaughan

The theme song was written by Michel Legrand (who also wrote music for Summer of '42, The Thomas Crown Affair, etc.) I've only heard it referred to as the them to Brian's Song.

Very nice arrangements exist for piano, or small ensemble. It is instrumental, and was nominated for a Grammy in that form, but there may have been words written for it.

Good luck with it.

Use whatever search engine you use - go to ALL MUSIC GUIDE or I think you can do allmusicguide.com
From there you can type in the song , " Brian's Song " or " Hands Of Time " and you will see all of the versions of that song. Good luck.

the theme song is titled HANDS OF TIME. BEAUTIFUL WORDS. I HAD THE SONG BEFORE LOSING IT IN A HOUSE FIRE. i CAN'T REMEMBER WHO SINGS IT. I FIRST HEARD THE WORDS 27/28 YEARS AGO. A FRIEND OF MINE SANG IT AT GRADUATION. I HAVE HER RECORDING BUT IT IS OLD. YOU CAN STILL UNDERSTAND IT THOUGH. I WOULD LOVE TO TRANSFER FROM CASSETTE TO SD BUT LACK THE KNOW HOW AND TECHNOLOGY. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH. I DO KNOW THE CASSETTE THAT I HAD OF A WELL KNOW ARTIST WAS BY AN AFRO-AMERICAN ARTIST BUT I CANNOT REMEMBER HIS NAME. WISH I COULD.
