When the game footage is shown, #41(Piccolo, played by Caan) looks black. I'm sure I'm mistaken, but everytime I see it he looks like a black guy, maybe he looks dark, but...I'm still confused. I maybe an idiot, but, can anybody help verify this please?

His parents were German, refugees from Nazi Germany...But yes, it is true that Jewish-Americans and Italian-Americans often look alike -- partly, due to they being in the same area of the country -- Northeast mostly. You see that Italian-American actors and Jewish-Americans actors usually can play either an Italian or a Jew very well...like for example, the brother on "Everybody Loves Raymond" -- Brad Garrett, he's Jewish. There's many examples of this.
And yes I am aware of Jewish-Italians like Roberto Begnini of "Life is Beautiful" fame, but that's a different point.

I believe this poster is referring to the real Brian, not James Caan. And he/she is correct. The old NFL films shown in the movie were the real thing - those were the real players, not actors.

He says "Played by Caan" so I thought he was referring to Caan...but I guess maybe I misunderstood. Piccolo, the real Piccolo, I'm sure was an Italian.

He might have been referring to Caan - he might not have known it was the real film footage, so in a way you were right. :)

Nope, my mistake. I was refering to the real game footage but when I was talking about Piccolo I thought I'd add that he was played by Caan. Sorry.

Also, in some of the original NFL footage, if you look closely, he is wearing a long-sleeve black shirt under the football jersey. But he was a pretty hairy Italian if you look at his pictures.
