Best confrontation scene ever!

I love it when Nora goes off on Netta. My favorite quote:

"If you wanna call somebody mammy you can walk ten *&%^ing blocks"

The scene where Gloria Edwards' character Norma goes off on Leslie Uggams' Netta
is probably the best confrontation scene in the film:

"If you wanna call somebody mammy you can walk ten *&%#@ing blocks!"

At the height of its release,BLACK GIRL when it came out in 1972 was in fact given a "PG" rating by the Motion Picture Association America.

PG-Parental Guidance Suggested-Some Material May Not Be Suitable for Pre-Teenagers

For scenes of strong language, not to mention Gloria Edwards' use of the "F" word, and some strong graphic vulgarities from Leslie Uggams herself indeed,
which was a first for a "PG" rated movie..especially for 1972 which almost ending up being "R" rated.

In several scenes the "N" word comes up on que.

BLACK GIRL in 1972,came out the same year as two big hits:
"Lady Sings The Blues",and "Sounder"

I think she was very mean, jealous and angry along with her sister. She pulled a knife out on Netta. She should of went to jail. IMO the best confrontation scenes are the ones that are justified. Like the one where the grandmother tells her daughter she needs to stop walking around with what happened when her mother sent her to her aunts. I think her mother not confronting her feelings about this had a effect on her 2 crazy daughters. The last line in the movie the mother keeps saying they are just like her.
IMO I loved the movie but it was just a retelling of Cinderella. In a very contemporary and excellent way.
