That the new Son Of Blob DVD won't be coming out.

It's release date has come and gone without a release. Best Buy's site for the DVD changed its name to Beware! The Blob, which was the title of the previous DVD release. It still lists the release date the same as before. It says it's backordered 2 to 4 weeks and it has said that ever since the release date, which is now more than a month ago.

There's not even a web site, apparently, for Thrill Kill, the intended distributor of this new DVD release.

So, I think it's safe to say that there is no new Son Of Blob DVD forthcoming.

This film is now out on both DVD and Blu-ray from Kino Lorber.

Yes, I got the DVD shortly after it came out last year. Finally got a DVD quality version of the Son Of Blob opening titles. I just wish they'd used branching to add it into the movie proper. That way, you could get 2 versions of the movie on the same disc. And I'd have wished they'd used dual layer discs instead of single layer discs. That way, they could have increased the quality of the video. Not that it was substandard or anything like that. Just would have looked even better as a dual layer spanning video stream.

The commentary was fantastic. I had no idea that guy was Brainy Smurf. I'd seen him in about a dozen things, but never placed the voice before.
