where to find the sound track

This is sadly a very obscure film, STILL! grrr, and I have never found any information or any source about the soundtrack, other than the credit for it as being scored by Harvey Schmidt of "Fantasticks" fame. The only other connection for soundtrack, well at least music, is that "Bad Company" inspired the 70's R & R band, naming themselves after the movie, and taking their inspiration for their hit single of the same name, "Bad company", specifically from this film. The use of piano in the song is directly because of the film's score. This is as close to an answer as I can offer I'm afraid. I found the dvd version of BC has an extended length of play, for the theme music, in the credits. I hope this is any help.

There has never been a commercial recording. Harvey Schmidt once made a private pressing of the score with A TEXAS ROMANCE. The album is called "Two Film Scores For Solo Piano". Try Ebay or obscure vinyl websites.

Thanks for that info! The music is haunting and I remember it still, even though I haven't seen the film in years. Now I am off to check out that Barry Brown website - thankfully someone did one! I was saddened to learn of his death at such an early age. I intend to read Los Angeles Diaries, but haven't got it yet.

it's hard to search for anything related to the movie on ebay
-if you're looking for movies you've got that recent Chris Rock one and others.
-if you're looking for music you've got the band that named themselves after the film.

Yes... I've already had a digital copy made... it sounds pretty good too!!

I suppose if you can play the piano and can get hold of the written piano score, you can perform and record it yourself.
