Awesome movie!

This is the second ancient movie (The Graduate) that, for me, is still watchable after all these years. By the way, it's not a comedy--though at times it approaches farce. The only line that almost moved me to laugh was the guy saying, after being struck by an arrow, something like "I see the long arrow is growing more fashionable!" BTW, I saw in on Prime, in German with subtitles. There is really so little dialogue that it's a disservice to the film to dub it.

1972 is not ancient! 😥

My first viewing of this awesome film was the dubbed version, some of the dubbing was laughable but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment, I’d rather see it with subtitles though.

Glad to see someone who enjoyed it. I saw last Sunday for the first time, in German with English subs and, OMG I loved it so much. I loved the darkness, how eerie it was. I loved how real the jungle felt, you could feel they were at the mercy of nature. It made me lose a bit of respect for Francis Ford Coppola and Apocalypse Now, because he clearly copy many things from Aguirre. more than he would like to admit.
