Unreleased music?

I'm not sure if this has been asked about, but there is a track in this film that I just can't find anywhere. As a reference, it's the music you can hear at the beginning of this remix.

Any help as to where I can find that atmospheric piece of music is greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, to my knowledge, it is indeed unreleased. It doesn't seem to appear on any version of the soundtrack album released to date (not even the various reissues over the years, see https://www.discogs.com/Popol-Vuh-Aguirre/master/12337), which I always found strange because that album features pieces of music which weren't featured in the film at all.

Someone did upload a version to YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GfDskFjPZqM) sourced from another Herzog film, "The Great Ecstasy of Woodcarver Steiner", the unofficial title is "Aguirre IV". The quality isn't great but it seems to be the only version available.

Here's hoping it gets released officially someday, I'm a big fan of Popol Vuh and I would love to hear a cleaner version of this track.

Thanks man for that link! It is really powerful. I can't believe it hasn't been given a proper release. Such a powerful bit of music and it releases so many emotions.
