... would people have called "Across 110th Street" a blaxploitation film? I mean if practically every scene and casting choice was unchanged, would making Pope's character white make such a huge change in perception of the movie's characterizaion?
shareCould you not say that just about any movie of this style tho.. If al Pacino was played by a black guy in panic in needle park could that not be seen as blaxploitation.. It's just a lane that's applied to certain movies anyway to make em fit into a category.. The main thing for me is no gritty movies like this are made anymore and it's a damn shame
